We have a vacuum sealer that comes with a hand pump and its accompanying bags but we were concerned about the durability of this hand pump so when it was on sale (flash sale) I decided to to try. The bags seem to be more durable than the bags that come with the hand pump. so it's like 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. The electric pump charges via USB-C, which is nice, and seems to hold a charge for quite a while. The pump is not very powerful and it can take quite a while to actually suck all the air out of the bag. And you'll never be sure if it's finished or not. srat vacuum process, then maybe switch to that one, especially if we're working together and sealing quite a lot of bags at once. Which is what we did once. So bags are an upgrade. The pump, which should have taken first place, is actually a spare part. But hey, he kind of works in our mental asylum. Finally, there's a red and green light on top of the pump that glows in a ring just below the dark gray plastic cover (which covers the entire top of the machine). I thought the light would be red until the pump is done, at which point it turns green to let you know the pump is done. THAT'S NOT THE CASE. For this reason I took 2 stars off the rating - 1 for this feature, which should be there but isn't, and 1 for the general inefficiency of the pump.
