Just received (nice lavender color, more purple), just installed batteries (not included) and the opener worked. My advice? Also, keep your fingers away from the blade when inserting the batteries. Haven't used the opener yet but will update my review when I do. but i am happy with this purchase. It is very important to set the share correctly (I had to make two attempts the first time). It has also been found that a little pressure may be required to lift the lid, so take extra care, especially with jars containing a lot of liquid (e.g. soup) as the liquid will fly away. General? So far I am very happy with this opener and definitely prefer it to my previous manual opener.
