I bought this gate to prevent our child from getting through a 46.5" door. This kit includes a base gate, a 6" extension and a 12" extension, contrary to the product description which says it includes a 4" extension instead of 6". This turned out to be the key in my case since 6"+12" is too wide for my doorway and 12" by itself is too narrow. I ended up adding a couple of 2x4 pieces on each side. Gate and use an additional 6" extension left over from another gate we bought in place of the 12" extension. Overall, once installed the gate is quite durable and works well. The gate latch can be tricky to close with one hand be served.
