The ridge is ideal for chewing wood.
These burrs were perfect for a small woodworking project I did with oak. Ideal for material removal. Chewed through the wood fairly cleanly with my Dremel and I didn't have to sand the wood too hard afterwards. It might not be the best option if you're doing complex work on really small projects, but overall I'm impressed and it works as advertised. The burrs stayed sharp after several hours of use. With the ease with which they removed stuff I would buy again if they were ever bored.
