Probably the easiest part I have ever fitted to my 2000 Ford F150. The EGR vacuum regulator solenoid is a magnetic device used to control the vacuum supply to the EGR valve. The solenoid contains a coil that uses a magnet to control the position of the disk to regulate the vacuum. As the coil duty cycle increases, the vacuum signal flowing through the solenoid to the EGR valve also increases. Vacuum that is not routed to the EGR valve is exhausted to atmosphere through the solenoid valve. Note that at 0% duty cycle (no electrical signal applied), the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid will pass some vacuum, but not enough to open the EGR valve. Great product for your truck.
