I bought these cables to connect parts of my audio gear without having to reach around the back of my preamp. I can just leave these cables in the preamp and easily connect any audio equipment I replace. I also recommend this product for use if you have an Audiotechnica LP-120 turntable. The audio cables of this particular player are neither long nor detachable. This solves these problems, allowing you to place your turntable much farther from your receiver/amplifier/preamp than before. They also protect the standard LP-120 cords from wear and tear as you will end up wearing out those extension cords and not the standard cords.
