Review on πŸ“Ά Cisco WAP4410N Wireless-N Access Point - Power over Ethernet (PoE) with Enhanced Security by Pete Hahn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Is working. Temporarily good for computers and accessories

The 4410N works as advertised in minutes and possibly up to days; However, he keeps dropping connections. Connect this device directly to WRT54gl with Tomato firmware. Absolutely no complaints about the 54gl - a decent product if I've ever seen one, especially when paired with DD-WRT or Tomato firmware. 4410N is terrible. When trying to use a wired connection as an access point to extend WiFi to a four story house, the access point keeps dropping connections. The longest I've had with it was a week and I've owned it for just over a year. The only reason I haven't replaced it is because I'm in the military and I'm away from home all the time. My family is also very disappointed with the product. Linksys/Cisco Technical Support has asked you to try all new firmware versions as I have, but to no avail. I have also tried this device as a pure repeater. It worked for just over 10 minutes, after which it stopped transmitting data - just like any access point configuration. If you search you can find people saying they found a specific configuration that worked for them for several months. I have tried these configurations and found that they are not for me. I really love Linksys/Cisco stuff but this article is complete rubbish. Bottom line: Look elsewhere for access points or repeaters with these features. I personally would rather buy TWO WRT54gl routers, install Tomato and configure them as access points. Stay away from 4410n.
