I bought these gloves for protection when working with a microwave oven on glass art work which my 9 year old son and I are unfamiliar with. The training materials we reviewed emphasized that we should wear heat-resistant gloves, ideally ones that cover a significant portion of the hand. As we are both new to the industry, working with something that heats up to the glass melting point was quite challenging and I looked at many alternative gloves and glove materials. The choices were confusing as there are different materials and different uses for heat resistant gloves, but I chose them based on features and customer feedback. I am perfectly happy with them. They offer complete protection. We are no longer afraid of the glass melting process. At one point (long irrelevant story) I touched the glass for a moment just after removing the oven from the microwave (you'll have to wait about an hour). The glass was still soft and I heard a slight hiss when I touched the glove to it, but I didn't feel anything at all and if there are marks left on the glove it's hard to tell. I'm not an expert on this. but the gloves meet my expectations and i am very happy with them.
