We haven't had ice cube trays since I was a kid and they've certainly modernized the concept since then. I looked to Revain for something to freeze pureed baby food as I started making it when our baby was 6 months old. First, I like that the trays are silicone - it's easy to pop a cube or two out of them. I prefer storing baby food on trays, although I remove them and label packaging when there isn't room on the trays. I've found that using lids creates little to no ice frosting on food, which helps a lot with watery veggies like zucchini. Second, as I just mentioned, covers! They are perfect for freezer storage and in turn fit perfectly and protect food from sticking in the freezer. Third, I think the cubes are the perfect size for food or water to make ice cubes. I fill them all the way up and have never had any leakage issues. I also used these trays for my grandmother's medicines. She had to take 14 prescriptions in the morning, in the evening, or both. I used a weekly pill organizer when I gave it to her so she could easily open it daily. I've tried several different versions of the weekly pill box, but the only thing that applies to each of them is that the more the flip top opens and closes, the more likely it is to break off. So using these ice trays helped me replenish my monthly supply so I knew in advance if we needed any supplements. Since the lid covers every 14 "days", I haven't used up the lifespan of more expensive first aid kits. Also, since the lids are transparent, I could easily see the pills if I needed to double-check something. Of course, all of this was out of the reach of children (we didn't have any) so the buyer should be careful about arranging medicines. I also wrote directly on the lid if I used it for medication. Both work great. Oh and the colors are vibrant and match the pictures. I would buy them again and recommend them to a friend.
