Great seals, please read my clarifying tips to avoid trouble!

This is a great product and since I've had 2 Kohler toilets with the same problem it was $100 cheaper (and easier) than calling a plumber. They even came with instructions, top notch product. A few clarifying tips: 1) When turning the valve stem inside the cylinder a quarter turn counter-clockwise, the trick is to hold the can up and do it under the can (but still in the tank). If you feel with your hand, you'll get a lot more leverage at the bottom than at the top. If you try to turn the canister from the top, you will most likely break the valve stem. This is important information that must be clearly stated in the kit. 2) After removing the valve stem and old gasket, before installing a new gasket, be sure to clean the surface of the old, rotten rubber from the old gasket. You can use a tissue for this, you don't want dirt getting in the way of your new filling. 3) When you create a new fill for the first time, it will seem too small. This is not the case, you just need to carefully place the inner sealing ring around the lip of the canister. You'll have to go around a few times to ensure a good fit. If you don't, your toilet will most likely continue to leak (and continue to frustrate you). under the canister, not on top. You should also do a few test flushes to make sure it's working properly and the seal is correct. 5) Some people here say it's a 30 second fix. No, take your time and do it right. Even with the above precautions and test flushes, going to the toilet takes less than 5 minutes. Voila! Now your hard work has earned you a grown-up drink!
