Use this if you don't have a dowel that matches the wood

Based on what I've learned with this tool, I'd probably prefer to use a dowel that matches the blank I'm making Manufacture of the dowel use . screw bag. The cutter does an excellent job of making the end cap long enough to allow the rough edges to be trimmed away after installation.
