My son wanted to do some simple chemistry experiments, but my wife didn't want them in her bowl. We bought these and were not disappointed. The difference in size is big, for small or large experiments you have the right size container. We worked with some acids (boric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc.) and some other things indoors and outdoors. We used them on a burner to vaporize them into dust (we used an alcohol burner). We even left one outside when it was below zero, so the experiment's fumes would escape outside and the house wouldn't stink. ; The glass had neither hot nor cold problems.
