Update August 2019 The kettle died instantly. No light. There is no heat. Nothing. Worked during the day, now it's no longer possible. Gentle use by adults regularly throughout the day for tea and herbal tea. Liked it when he worked. Update 2: Received a $12 replacement shipped from Hamilton Beach as it was under warranty. From day one to the present day (a couple of weeks) water seeps out of the ground. The electronics are not good there. Also leaves a bit of a mess on the counter; cannot be used on a wooden kitchen table. A *second* warranty claim has been filed. Update 3: Wrong kettle sent. Steel piece without temperature control. After a few more emails, the original transparent teapot appeared. Set it up according to the instructions in the letter. Took a day and a half. No heat, no blue light. *Third party* Warranty claim submitted. DO NOT BUY THIS KETTLE. Works well after the first month. Offers a wide temperature range for heating water. Unfortunately, after a month of daily use, the inscription is erased. Still works fine. After about 6 weeks the buttons start to stick. I foresee another replacement in my future. One star deducted.
