Hamilton Beach 40864 Electric Tea Kettle, Cordless Water Boiler & Heater with LED Indicator, Built-In Mesh Filter, Auto-Shutoff & Boil-Dry Protection, 1.7L Clear Glass Review

I have been using this kettle for about 3.5 months and take good care of it (only use filtered water, never leave water in it and unplug it when not in use). It's mostly only used on weekends and it worked great until yesterday when it just stopped working. The buttons still light up and squeak, but nothing happens when you press start. I am very disappointed in this product and considering other reviews from people who have had similar issues (or caught fire!) I do NOT recommend this kettle.

I would like an oval teapot but they don't seem to make it. I timed another Hamilton Beach kettle and it boiled the water 2 minutes faster. (Plus, it costs $10 more) The higher the power, the faster it cooks. This is my first kettle and I really love it. The only downside is that the cord doesn't retract but wraps around the underside of the base. So you won't get "exactly" the cable length you want, but that doesn't matter. He does what I want. Update August 2019 The kettle died instantly. No light. There is no heat. Nothing. Worked during the day, now it's no longer possible. Gentle use by adults regularly throughout the day for tea and herbal tea. Liked it when he worked. Update 2: Received a $12 replacement shipped from Hamilton Beach as it was under warranty.
