Review on ☕ Contigo Luxe AUTOSEAL Vacuum-Insulated Travel Mug 16 oz. with Spill-Proof Coffee Mug and Stainless Steel THERMALOCK Double-Wall Insulation, Monaco by Narendra Thapa

I have had other Contigo products (AUTOSEAL West Loop) and have been very happy with their design, performance and appearance, but they were it not dishwasher. Secure. They turned out to be the best travel mugs I have ever bought. However, I am tired of constantly washing my hands, even though the task is actually not that difficult. Sometimes you're just too tired or lazy and wonder why this expensive car won't do this job for me? This model (Luxe AUTOSEAL) claims to be dishwasher safe. I bought it expecting happiness from previous purchases (AUTOSEAL West Loop) but with the added bonus of being dishwasher safe. However, the downside in my experience with Luxe is that the drinks aren't that hot after 5 hours compared to West Loop. With the Luxe stainless steel lid, there is significantly more heat transfer, which increases heat loss from the beverage. The heat dissipation is very noticeable when the mug is full. The heat transfer is so great that the lid feels hot. It wasn't hot enough to burn me, but I brush my lips gently over it as I take my first sips. The West Loop's all-plastic lid is better insulated and doesn't feel as hot. Overall I would say that Luxe is more expensive but not Contigo's best product compared to their West Loop. I would give both products 4 stars. The Luxe loses a star for not keeping drinks hot for up to 5 hours as advertised (more likely 3-4 hours). West Loop loses a star because of the inconvenience of hand washing the body. Since the two designs are pretty much equivalent with slight differences, your choice between the two should be: your drink within two hours. AUTOSEAL West Loop: If you don't mind hand washing the case (lid is dishwasher safe) and want it to stay hot, not just warm, after 5 hours. I still think both are better than the travel mugs I bought. The Luxe AUTOSEAL just didn't live up to my expectations as I had previous experience with the AUTOSEAL West Loop. Someone at work stole one of my Contigo Luxe AUTOSEAL cups on the second day of use. I hope they hand wash it every time for years, not knowing they could put it all in the dishwasher.
