Review on Acero Olive Wood Pepper Mill by Berard by Marlo Schlachter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent mill, nice finish.

I bought this product in a set with a salt shaker from the same manufacturer. I like the wood and the finish and it works well when sanding with fine sanding size adjustment. Filling can be tricky - you hold it upside down, remove the plastic nut at the bottom, then remove the cap. and spring. To be on the safe side, I usually stuff this over another bowl to hold the peppers that fall off the side as I'm stuffing, and use the small bowl to hold the three pieces I removed for stuffing . While I've had other grinders that were easier to fill, this one works well and contains enough pepper that I don't see it as a downside to the product. The wood is excellent and the finish is beautiful. If you follow the manufacturer's instructions, you can easily restore the finish with a light coat of food-safe oil or beeswax, although wood wears exceptionally well. I have two of these grinders - there are definitely some differences in the wood, but that's a feature, not a disadvantage, in my opinion.
