I almost returned it after reading the reviews but I attached it to the handlebars with the strap provided and it works very well. I wanted something that can hold my phone while in a fully waterproof "lifeproof" case because I use my phone off the bike more than on the bike. Many other phone holders have had me removing the phone from the case. It seems to be holding up well so far, but I think it might break due to the steering column mount. This connection method puts a lot of stress on the small plastic part. Otherwise I think it's worth the money as I don't have to worry about it being waterproof.
