Was a bit skeptical that I could just take this old leaking valve cover off on our 2000 Crv 2.2lL (instead of having to pull the cover valves, etc., as examined) took a small flathead screwdriver, carefully inserted it under the cap and carefully began prying it off, the cap came out fairly easily although I would advise being very careful as the 3 plastic tabs on mine were ready to fall off . Luckily, after I removed my entire lid, it was easy to put the new lid in place. In general, the cover can be replaced in this way, the product is of good quality, it works. Replaced about 6-10 months ago, hasn't leaked since!
