Review on πŸ”Œ Dorman 904-310 Diesel Glow Plug Control Module for Compatible Dodge, Freightliner, and Jeep Models by Nathaniel Collins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly recommended when replacing the controller

Many have incorrectly stated that this is a 7V device. This is not the case and was confirmed by a call to Dorman. This is a 4.5 volt device. It works with 4.4 glow plugs found in Sprinter diesel engines. If in doubt, pull the glow plug and the voltage is on the glow plug. It worked on a 2007 Dodge Sprinter - the first time we've used a Dorman module. The OEM unit showed diagnostic code 2270-004 which means the controller is not working. When swapped out for a Dorman module, the glow plugs worked. It took a little longer to start the car in colder weather, but that may be because the glow plugs have 80,000 miles. It is strongly/strongly recommended that you replace all glow plugs when replacing the ECU, otherwise you may find that the glow plugs are failing due to aging. This has nothing to do with the controls.
