So when I received it I took it to our nearby pond for testing. Thought this would be the perfect place to try as I am VERY familiar with this pond and the behavior of the fish. I tossed it to one of my usual trout fishing spots and waited about 10 minutes. The fish didn't show up. So I took it to the main pond where most of the fish swim. It was wonderful! I could tell from the fish on the screen if it was sunfish, trout or perch. He showed a large perch sitting at about 5 feet depth. Decided to see how accurate it is. Vaki made a senko and the second cast pulled out a 3 lb spotted seal. The size indicator was there. I plan to use it primarily for ice fishing but I can see how good it will be in my kayak or from the bank. I was about to buy an $800 Vexilar, glad I tried it first!
