Review on BETOOLL Camshaft Tensioning Alignment Chevrolet by Christopher Jackson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Doesn't work immediately after installation

Bad at first1. Cam gear locking parts would not work without significant grinding of the mating surfaces. They may have been cast and cooling caused some warping and the anti-corrosion coating caused sticking to the surface. After careful sanding, fitting, sanding, etc., everything worked fine. Sidenote DO NOT attempt to turn the pinion lock counter-clockwise or you could loosen the screw and cause catastrophic engine damage if the cam timing "slips".2. The crankshaft holding tool had to be made of a stronger material. Tightening the "NEW" crankshaft bolt caused the part to bend.3. It's not the details, it's the fact that the crankshaft holding tool doesn't fit in a certain spot. It fits on the teeth of the starter sprocket of the flexplate. It's up to you to make sure everything is aligned correctly when installing.4. For the good. It worked.5. It was much cheaper than Kent Moore's instrument.6. If you're a pro and use the tool on a weekly or monthly basis, get a Kent Moore tool. If you do it less than 5 times, that's the ticket.
