I study marine service engineering. It should be in your tool box. I was able to quickly diagnose the sonar and figure out why it wasn't getting 12 volts. Very easy to use. The long cable is ideal for large boats with batteries in the stern. The multimeter is well made and works. Prioritize and buy this if you work with one or more 12 volt electrical systems
