Previously bought 2 other lightboxes, one many years ago for calligraphy which was very chunky and cumbersome and only plugged into an outlet, one bought in 2017, like this one, for my work and it works fantastic for viewing photo negatives and x-rays. Very thin and easy to use, these new lightboxes are like the transition from a horse-drawn carriage to an elegant racing car. I wanted my grandkids (7, 8, 10 years old) to be interested in art after seeing how much fun they had making their own creations by tracking down the images I got (for free) from the After downloading it from the internet, I chose a different illuminati light. Crate. I now have 3 lightboxes and will probably have to order another one as nobody wants to use a clunky old style box (which takes up so much storage space). It's time to retire. What I like about the Illuminati lightbox is that it's bright enough to trace even on thick paper (use maximum brightness), it has adjustable brightness settings, and it's very compact. With kids I worry about power cords running through the kitchen to the table so I bought 2 small power adapters and hooked up a short cord to the light box to connect to the power adapter battery, no more problems, no more need an outlet and long cords . Now I just pull out the lightbox, plug it into the power bank and it's instantly ready to use anywhere. Revain has many "power banks" to choose from, starting at $10 and up. My first has 5600 mAh, is 3.75 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick. There is no flicker and the kids used the light box for about 3 hours and still had enough battery for more sessions. . I also bought a simple, soft, zippered case off Amazon for $11, I connected a light box and a small power adapter, and voila! I can pick them up and run or rush to work with them and I can stack them (3 on my next order) and they take up very little space.
