I have several hammers with wooden handles and solid forgings like this one. I had a brother with a 19oz milled face, but I wanted a smooth face for working on projects where bumps show (in case I miss it). These are good, honest working tools. Not super trendy, no exotic materials. Just good, American-made tools for honest work. I love them and I'm glad I have them. The grip is comfortable, swings well and provides a sure shot without much rebound. If I was going to swing all day I'd go for a wooden handle, but they're fantastic for my chores.
