This slicer works just as well as the more expensive one I have. I wanted to have a spare cutter on hand because we use it a lot. I've washed it in the dishwasher a few times and it comes out fine, no rusting or tarnishing. It's lighter than my old one but gets the job done. The wire is tight and will cut through a sharp 4# cheddar loaf. The screw stayed tight and held the bead where I like it better than the old "best" so I could cut thinner slices. It might not last that long but the price was pretty low for 4 slicers. (My grown kids in Christmas stockings have cheese cutters this year.)
