It is normal for them to take up space when knitting, which is why I bought them. But wow! they stick to your knitting needles. they don't slide at all. I use chia gu needles and consider them the best needles, never had a snag when knitting, I can maintain speed when moving stitches from one knitting needle to another. DO NOT use these markers. They are very annoying and interfere with smooth knitting. Got some hard plastic and sent to Goodwill. Good in a pinch, but look for another alternative for long-term use.
