Review on Brother SX 4000 Electronic Typewriter by Melissa Moore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Another handy and useful office supplies necessities for filling out forms like a pro!

I bought to replace another Brother typewriter that has stopped working - the firing pin has stopped beating - and it's cheaper to buy a new one than to repair the old one ( the replaced one was older than 23 years). First of all, this one is much lighter and more streamlined, which is a plus for me as the model I used before was a chore for a girl to lug around and set up on a desk or office. Writing desk. The power cord is also easier to manage, the older model's cord was quite stiff and not very manageable. This is a case where older isn't necessarily better. I also never liked the "square" style of the 80's/early 90's, certainly not as aesthetic as this one. I'm glad Brother still makes the keys taller and more solid than other branded keys, not that the keys are hard to press, quite the opposite, but I find it makes it a lot easier to type accurately without missing a beat , and that's the classic touch I'm used to. I've never tried the electronic spell checker as I preferred typing by hand the old-fashioned way, but I was the best at spelling in school, so this feature may come in handy for those who want to use an electronic computer . Yes, it's a high-tech, computer-controlled, feature-rich typewriter, and you can type and double-check the screen before actually approving it for physical printing on paper, saving time and money on paper and ink. I can still type faster than a typewriter can actually type on paper, but that's to be expected as there are physical limits to how fast a small hammer can hit accurately, and I've found this model to print faster than that old model, namely it only takes a few seconds to catch up with them. with me so I can move on to the next line, and I'm not going to write a book about it, so it doesn't bother me at all. Personally, I like the sound of an old-fashioned typewriter, and this one has a beautiful "tip" sound that's the closest thing to classic WWII typewriters. My parents could never sleep with a working typewriter so I tried not to type at night but they couldn't sleep even though I was typing on a computer keyboard and I'm typing no harder than the average person but I'm typing over 40 words per minute. I use it primarily to fill out W-2 (and W-3) and other people's small business forms. When I was a teenager I helped type documents and fill out forms on an old Brother typewriter, so I still find it quicker and easier to just pull out the typewriter and fill out specific forms that I need to fill out rather than mine to cause trouble. Installed form filling software on a computer and figured out how the cheap program worked, only to find that after lots of trial and error, it still didn't print as professionally as it did with my Brother typewriter (that I remember). comes with a dust cover for protection as I only use it a couple of times a year). For letter writing and typing in general I mostly use a desktop computer and a printer, but for some envelopes, labels and especially filling out I find it much more convenient and efficient to pull out and print the Brother SX-4000. The perfect looking results are worth it and a real time saver for me! Thank you for taking the time to read this review and if you found it helpful at all please let me know by voting below.
