Review on 17.3" Portable EVICIV FreeSync Monitor - 2560X1440 Resolution, Anti-Glare Coating, Tilt Adjustment, Ultrawide Screen, HD by Sam Swickley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Inexpensive monitor with a big disadvantage

There are so many good things about this monitor, but it's stuck in one very important flaw. Pros: - Metal body - Matte edge-to-edge display - Fast response time (actually accurate product description) - Comes with everything you need (case, screen protector and every cable) - Above-average brightness - 300 nits - Works with a single cable setup - No latency between ads. Cons: - Color accuracy is BAD. Darker colors are rendered very poorly and viewing a darker background gives the impression of a frosted effect on the screen. Blacks look pretty gray even after adjusting my laptop and monitor settings multiple times. I even calibrated both displays so I wouldn't go insane. If it could be adjusted or fixed, this would be the perfect monitor. - A minor note, but I would like an internal battery to minimize the drain on the laptop battery. Things to look out for: - If you are using a USB-C connection. Make sure the port has a DisplayPort 1.4 chipset or higher if you want to use the HDR feature. For reference, I'm connecting this monitor to a Dell XPS 13 9370 (FHD) via USB-C. Conclusion: It offers a lot of quality for the price
