I bought this and a "brand name" USB monitor at the same time, thinking I'd keep the brand. I was wrong. This is a great external monitor with some real advantages over others I've seen. First, it has 3 different types of inputs: USB-C, MiniDisplayport, and full-size HDMI. USB-C when used with a USB-C to USB-C cable carries both video and power and is the best option. But it's really nice to have 2 other options. MDP and HDMI require power, but the monitor can be powered from a (different) USB-C port OR a Micro-USB port. Very diverse. You'll pick one method and use it 99% of the time, but if the wire breaks or is forgotten, you'll appreciate the many options available. it is very well thought out. It comes with a decent looking detachable faux leather sleeve that also keeps it iPad style. There's a small hole in the bottom left of the screen that you can poke it in with a stylus. I haven't done it yet, but it's very clever. The picture is very clear and bright. The 1080p resolution is still about the same as a regular USB monitor and I think that's fine for a 15 inch monitor. For work and normal use, the picture is perfect. It has 5 buttons (no markings). As an aside it would be nice if they were signed, but it's not hard to figure out, power, volume up/down (speakers work fine although I wouldn't build a home theater around this screen), some settings including brightness, contrast, sharpness and a selector input. Actually more settings than I could think of. A few years ago I had an external USB3 monitor and it literally had no built-in settings and you had to use ScreenBright software to adjust every setting, even the brightness (and that would void your warranty). Again, you probably won't change much of the settings here, but it's very nice to have options. The refresh rate is suitable for business work. No delay in mouse movements. I paid for it out of my pocket and recommend it. I don't know about durability but currently (2 months later) I would say there is no reason to choose another external monitor just because it has a better name.
