Good idea but very poor quality control. As many have noted, the yellow soft tips are glued on with a rather hard, awkward glue. The edge of the strip is glued together and a sharp edge is obtained. I guarantee it will produce flat, well, nothing flat. I worked on the edge with a small emery board to try to smooth it out a bit. It still worries me. I can cut it more with a rotary knife. I have seen rim tape with a slight crease or tear much smaller than this resulting in a flat surface. I would also suggest powdering your tubes - that's good advice anyway, it might just save you from pinching your tube with a liner. I read several other reviews stating that the manufacturer should have replaced the liners with a batch of bad glue. I have to wonder if I got one of this batch even if I bought mine months after other posters mentioned it. So I'm wondering if the manufacturer chose to just swap out the faulty earbuds when users complained, rather than recalling the bad batch. This is the tool people use to gently trim the cuticles on their nails. I carefully cut off the sharp edge where the tip is glued and sanded it even smoother with an emery board. Now let's start the installation. If your tires are difficult to install in general, prepare for more trouble installing those liners. The narrower the tires, the more difficult it is to mount. Sliding the liner under the tubes and keeping the liner centered on the tire is a difficult exercise. Inserting the liner is not that difficult as it is placed completely UNDER the tube and centered on the tire rather than climbing up the sidewall. .Problem. Be prepared for some sore fingers and bloody thumbnails trying to force the liner back into the center when attempting to insert the open side of the tire. I just hope I got it halfway centered. As others have noted, an adhesive backing ensures proper placement.
