I'm calling this tentative because I've only had it recently and I can't comment on its longevity. However . This jacket is at least as good as any I've seen for $150 or more. Let's start with . I was very impressed when I received it. It has plenty of inner and outer pockets, and like a true touring jacket, the top edges of the outer pockets fold down before attaching with Velcro to keep rain out. There's even an inside pocket that says "Phone"! There's a heavy duty zip and then a strong velcro flap that slides over it. Velcro is a good thing that sounds like ripping your phone book in half if you're out of place. The jacket has a number of straps that allow you to customize the jacket. On the waist, biceps, wrists, hem of the jacket and neck. What looked like a shapeless jacket when I took it out of the box looks like a tailored jacket after some adjustments to the straps and I have to say. I think the jacket looks great and I look good in it. It is designed to fit different body types and specific sizes. The fabric is just as nice, thick and thick as I saw at a bike shop last week for $200. It's sturdy and I think it'll take a fall just fine, but what I found today was... It really blocks the wind. It comes with armor on the elbows, shoulders and back. There's also a fairly thin lining that can be zipped up or taken out and a whole host of vents. It was chilly for Arizona today with temperatures hovering around 49 degrees and gusty winds as I set out on the 80 mile journey. I almost drove along the highway at a speed of 70-75 km / h. I wore a plain, non-insulated, regular-weight, long-sleeved t-shirt and a lined jacket. I got very warm! If I were still in New York I might choose a sweatshirt and I think that's all I need because the fabric and all the zippers are so windproof that you don't get cold. I would include a light scarf because I couldn't pull the strap tight enough to cover it completely. Also, it was amazing and I feel comfortable to be able to ride with just this jersey here in Arizona in the mid 40's. I swear I don't know how they can sell this jacket for this price but I would buy it before anyone knew. There was an error! I'd buy another one in a heartbeat just to be safe but I'm still losing weight and I'm afraid it might not fit in a year. It really is that good! For those measuring the size. I'm 5'9" and 195 pounds, and although I'm an older guy, I still have a somewhat athletic build with a 45" chest and 37" waist and a small stomach. XL was perfect. With my chest size I would be uncomfortable in a large one and of course I wouldn't be able to wear a sweatshirt or vest. Like I said. The jacket suits a variety of body types, but you're married to armpits and I might feel something smaller would be tight. Amazing great jacket and great value for money.
