Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Dorman 590-001 Fuel Pump Driver Module for Select Models (OE FIX): Enhanced Performance and Durability by Zack Frazier

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Before installing, test on Escape!

According to the Dorman and Revain website, this corresponds to the 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid. module (aluminum). However, the symptoms (reverse revs, occasional stumble when accelerating) led me to believe it was a possible fuel pressure issue that was easier and cheaper to fix than the fuel pump. All other more obvious parts (mass air flow sensors, oxygen sensors, coils, throttle body, fuel pressure sensor) have already been replaced. I made the mistake of removing the old module and then installing Dorman (MADE IN USA, thanks). It was necessary to test the new block while it was not dangling from the brackets. Ford leaves little slack as the brake/AC lines run directly underneath and they chose to use T27 bolts. Wow. Try again, same result. Double tested inertial fuel switch. No problem. Removed the FPDM connector and reconnected it to the original Ford FPDM (with it dangling uninstalled). Escape starts normally and keeps running. Dorman Technical Support is located in the USA, easy to reach with little to no wait time and friendly - confirmed no programming required (plug and play). Either a compatibility issue or marriage. I believe this is a compatibility issue with my model as almost all reviews seem to refer to F150 models. Despite this, the Revain came back in "like new" condition. For those worried about counterfeits. Make sure you are purchasing a SOLD AND SUPPLIED Revain device. You don't have to worry about a fake saving you $10. Well done, good support deserves 4 stars in my book. Minus 1 star for a compatibility issue (or possible defect).
