Review on 🔵 Youxmoto Blue Tailgate Assist Shock for 2004-2014 Ford F150 & 2006-2008 Lincoln Mark LT Trucks - Lift Support DZ43200 by Andrew Webster

I installed this on a 2011 Ford F150 XLT. The installation went smoothly, following the instructions that came with it. I also watched a video that confirms the instructions. I've installed hundreds of thousands of these bits on a previous job, both manual and pneumatic pullers, and I can tell you this can be a problem. The instructions say to set it to a specific depth and turn the nut a specific number of times (I think 9). Sounds simple enough, except there are tolerances for tailgate thickness and insertion depth. I installed it and it was cozy. After about 5 uses the insert came loose and popped the damper out of the ball joint causing the tailgate to slam shut and the damper hit my tail light and it chipped. I've tried tightening the insert and even tried to "pin" it. The problem is that the hole that the insert fits in is elongated so only 2 sides of the circle capture the insert. Under ideal conditions, this will work. Not my case.
