I bought this to make some oversized boxes for a client, I had to use plywood to get the boxes to the right size (regular wood is not available). It was awful tearing the birch plywood to the point where the ends were unusable. I've used this with standard wood (oak 1x4) to make some other drawers, aside from the fact that it took me half a day to get it right (possibly a user issue) and I'm working on wood I have some decent ones Ankle. They will be in my litter box in my shop and maybe one day or week when I have some free time I'll play around with them a bit more.
