Review on 🔐 ULTRALOQ UL3 BT (2nd Gen) Smart Lock: Enhanced 5-in-1 Keyless Entry Electronic Door Handle in Sleek Black Design by Charles Lewis

I'm a mechanical engineer and kind of a trailblazer. I discovered Ultraloq on Indigogo earlier this year and decided to fund and order 2 units. At that point they weren't on Revain. I recently received my devices and am very impressed. This block combines more functions/accessors than any other in my research. Your website information, printed templates and instructions, and even the tools you need come in well-designed product packaging. There is a choice of finishes, I chose Satin as it almost perfectly matches my existing home gear. And since you can easily adjust the grip in any direction, I knew I had a choice of where to set it. If you have a garage with a traditional fire door that allows you to enter your home like I did, you will appreciate the device. . I have to carry a lot of keys with me and most of the time both hands are busy when I get to the door. I've found it easy to stick out a finger or two to open it with the Ultraloq scanner in just a few seconds and I don't have to put my stuff down first. My photos and videos uploaded here show different opening methods with a finger, a code, a phone app or a standard key. The code tag and 2 keys they provide are really only needed if you don't notice the low battery alerts that appear (they claim) long before you can't turn the latch on. Please note that from the lock itself or the phone app, several steps are required to put this lock into "pass-through" mode, where it remains unlocked. I wish they were simpler or geofenced so there wouldn't be a need to do this from time to time. Mechanically, this device is built very solidly in my opinion. The handle usually rotates when the door is locked. But the mechanism does not move the inner bolt until the electronics activate the inner motor. This is really different from normal castles and confuses our visitors if we forget to mention it. I decided to program the scanner for multiple fingers on each hand as well as for my wife. I'd say it reads and opens maybe 90% on the first try. It's a little finicky. Entering the code is easy and always works. I like that you only need 4 digits, but you can put other numbers before and after if someone is watching and unlikely to remember everything. The lock sees your unique code in what you type. When I went to install it it was very easy. By removing the old lock and knobs I was able to measure and make sure no changes were needed in my case. Ultraloq fit installed according to instructions. Since my door is metal plated I was concerned because there are two "teeth" on the door side of the lock that need to be cut into the surface to ensure it is secure and not forced to turn. You have to pull very hard to make them stick. Otherwise he doesn't sit up straight. I was just nervous about overtightening and breaking something. If you later remove the lock, this will leave small dents. You may not need to install a frame if it fits. I decided to do it anyway and had to score the wood corners to match the original corners at the bent corners. I would have liked the lock to stay open longer so I had to give 4 stars vs 5. It's only about 10 seconds, which I found uncomfortable. But this eats up a lot of battery power and I can see why it's kept short to save battery life. This is 3 AA under a black cover on the inside. Another reason to be brief is for commercial applications where you want to make it difficult for a second person to re-open and get inside without code. I hope that some photos of the application and videos on the methods of opening the lock will be useful. I just hope I can get them out of my iPhone. (Revain doesn't allow multiple videos, so I'll go back and upload a combo. Also, actually programming the sensor to identify your finger took a few tries to get the sequence right and working. Make sure you do that Model received before you order ... what you want The metal finish to choose, and with or without Bluetooth option, although they may have standardized the latter This is a good product and I recommend it.
