Functional but with issues

This case/keyboard fits the 2021 iPad Pro 12.9 well, easy to set up, all functions work and the price is much lower than Apple's. What's not to like? Well, there are a number of questions.* This case is made out of hard plastic instead of TPU, or at least with a rubberized finish. There's no shock absorption at all.* Not only is there no shock absorption, but the iPad Pro is held in place by two small twist grips to secure the small edges of the iPad Pro. I highly doubt the whole thing will hold up if I accidentally drop it. scratch the protective film or further loosen the holding power of the handles. * This thing is pretty heavy: alone it weighs about 33 ounces with the keyboard cover and about 59 ounces with the iPad Pro added. I have a soft TPU case with no keyboard that only weighs about 40 ounces with an iPad Pro.* Although this case can be rotated and folded to use as a pad instead of a laptop, it's too heavy for comfort. It would be much better if it could be detached rather than using a hinge, especially when there are no electrical connections between the two parts. and cannot hold stable beyond a certain angle. *Instead of using the ports on the back of the iPad Pro for power, it has its own battery. It's a good thing that the keyboard doesn't draw any power from the pad, but it also needs to be charged from time to time. Because it doesn't have a physical connection to the iPad, you can't replace it with a cable and charging port. Saving battery life at the expense of functionality isn't the best design compromise.* The keyboard doesn't provide a good feel and feedback right out of the box. Adding a keyboard cover makes it worse.* The trackpad doesn't offer a consistent feel. Sometimes it seems too sensitive, sometimes vice versa. All in all, if you're looking for an inexpensive one-piece solution to using your iPad Pro as a laptop, this might be your choice. I think a soft TPU case with a separate Bluetooth keyboard and mouse would be safer, more flexible to use and more productive for desktop use.*
