This set worked great. Cheaper than Delco OEM air conditioning and just as good or better. The seal is made of high quality rubber with metal inside, just like the original. You definitely don't need a regular rubber or cork gasket as you're just checking for leaks. I highly recommend using a Lubegard atf (red bottle) protection additive when filling up if you have trouble shifting. This stuff works wonders! Completely fixed my sliding trance! Just add an ounce per quart. This gear is 12.9 liters so I used 13 ounces. Note: You only need 6.9 liters per pallet and refill per 4t40e truck. Anyway, I didn't use the filter gasket because the old gasket was still fine. The rubber was fine and still sealed well. These seals can also be removed by PITA. So if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I tightened the oil pan bolts to 106 in-lbs, filled them with 6.9 liters of Dexron VI and off we went! YouTube has a great guide for this job.
