It takes a little more force to bolt this strut on from the side of the car but it took only 5 minutes of work even with my VERY bad ratchet kit. I give it 4 stars out of 5 because it's too strong. I didn't have any problems with the old one, but I decided to take action. This new strut applies enough pressure to eject the tailgate fast enough for it to swing open and rebound. Not completely closed, but everything in the glove compartment in the tailgate rattles, which does NOT happen even when driving over bumps. The tongue that attaches to the tailgate fits snugly, the side of the car is slightly different, but no issues or worries.
