I know nothing about blankets. I've had my horse for a few years and thought she was in her 30's and might need a blanket. I've only put it on her once so far (at night) and I think she liked it. I could feel it slipping back and maybe choking her a bit, but she didn't seem to mind. It's supposed to be cold for the next few nights and I'll put it on her and see how well it holds up. So far I'm happy with the purchase and think it was a reasonable price. I would recommend this blanket.
