My son is almost 6 years old and currently wears a size 11.5 Little Kid shoes. They say 3Y-9Y but they're still a bit too big for him to wear as crew socks. The heel goes to his ankle and he can pull his socks up to his calf to his pants or his socks up to his knee. This is actually normal because he prefers to wear socks above his calf for comfort, so he likes to wear them. It's very slim, but the elastic on the hose is nice and snug, but not too tight so they don't fall off when running. The soft sock is very comfortable but does make some of his shoes tighter but that also seems to work well for us at the moment as it's half the size and it's easier to find full size shoes and they shoes in 12- size, they are less likely to slip. I love the classic look of these socks and they go well with many of his summer outfits when he can wear shorts (usually he prefers pants but with full calf coverage he also plays in shorts). I would like the bottom of the socks to be non-slip as we live in a house with hardwood floors and don't usually wear shoes indoors. He likes to walk in his socks so he should take off and walk barefoot to avoid slipping - nonetheless it's personal preference and these socks are still good the way they are.
