Does the job, bundled software is totally useless

I bought this disc to back up my BluRay collection so I can stream it over LAN. I may have misread the description and specs, but I was under the impression that it could read 4K UHD discs, but unfortunately it can't - that's one star. No problem. Archiving standard 1080p BluRay discs on my MacBook Pro (2019 16" macOS 10.15.x), but unfortunately there is no bundled or complete software to actually play BluRay movies on a Mac. Luckily I have a Windows one too -PC so I tried it but it didn't work very well. The software bundled with this drive is a five year old version of Cyberlink PowerDVD which is not 100% able to play BluRay discs.I had to buy at full price because this version is so old there is no promotional upgrade price, the latest PowerDVD just to use the drive as advertised - another excellent deduction overall the drive basically does what it says The lack of 4K support is annoying to say the least, but the age-old bundled software that's clearly incompatible with the drive is hugely disappointing, and if you're just trying to archive 1080p BluRay discs then this is it this the obvious buy. However, if you want to watch them on your computer, you must be prepared to shell out another $100 for the necessary software. (Note: Cyberlink has the worst customer service I've ever encountered from a tech company. Totally unacceptable backend and infrastructure for any business in 2020.)
