Review on πŸ’¦ Corsair H100i Elite Capellix Liquid CPU Cooler with iCUE Technology by Gabe Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not sure what the problem is.

I see the feedback from people going through hard times and I don't understand it. Of course, if you have a small case, you will have a hard time. You should probably not get involved with water cooling in the first place. I've had cheap fans and better ones and they've definitely worked. Cheap fans, you actually have to cut them yourself, and that can wear out your fingers. And it might have been a design decision that Corsair has since rectified. But I can say with certainty that these propellers and fans worked hand in hand. The radiator bracket was perfectly tightened with the screws provided. It was the same with the fans when I installed them. Also, the H100i came with a fantastic controller, meaning you don't have to worry about a dedicated port on the motherboard - it's just used as a spare USB port (on the motherboard). Seriously, I'm using a six year old motherboard (Gigabyte Gaming 7 Z170x) and due to Corsair's controller choices and design, it performs like the best onboard ARGB controller. I like it! I also installed my heatsink on top (inserted the fans earlier than I did) and didn't need any help. (Although I did have a magnetic screwdriver. It's a godsend.) The only problem I had was attaching the CPU cooler to the motherboard. The screws marked for the 1151 chipset (which I have) didn't work and I had to use other screws to attach them. (Long and narrow on both sides. It will make sense when you see them.) All in all, this is a great, great cooler. The processor is cooler, you have a choice of colors, it syncs amazingly well with other fans I have, and it was super easy to install. I can't speak for older models, but if you have to exert a lot of force and pressure to screw something onto a Corsair iCUE H100i Elite Capellix, you're doing something wrong.

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
  • Style 90
