Remanufactured steering box for a 1996 GMC Yukon K1500 with 152,000 miles (one owner) I didn't fit it 2 months after ordering due to prolonged illness so I skipped the return window, otherwise I would send it back for a refund. I replaced it due to a major leak from the original steering shaft seal. After the first 100 miles of the replacement, the steering wheel had about 5 inches of radial play. I adjusted the gearing in 1/8 turn increments and ended up doing a full turn before reducing the radial play to 2 inches. Yes, I checked the steering shaft, linkage and lobe joint; they were fine. It steers well, but turning the steering wheel to the left requires more effort than turning it to the right. New tires and front end alignment did not improve steering. All steering and suspension components were also replaced. I completely disassembled, rebuilt (Edelmann 8780 kit) and installed the original GM gearbox and it works great. restored with minimal attention to quality and functionality, and I lost nearly $150 (current price is about double what it was 18 months ago). Hope this will be helpful.
