Remanufactured Power Steering Gear - Cardone 27-7566 Review

The steering on my 1997 Chevrolet K1500 was pretty sloppy. Put this on and it takes care of the sloppy side to side. No more lugging my truck down the street!

The restored gearbox has almost the same backlash as my old one. Not very happy. Return/exchange is not possible because 30 days have passed. Was only installed a week at the time of knowledge.

I paid $122 for this steering box and when I shipped the core I got a check for $195. It works fine, my original had a little play. I installed a 6 inch lifter in my '96 suburb and decided to replace most of the fronts while I was at it.

5 stars for initial quality but Amazon listing for this part is wrong, it fits 1/2 ton and light duty (7200# GVW, 6 lug) 3/4 ton truck. If like me you have an 8600 #GVW 8 eyelet you will need part number 27-7539 which can also be found here on Amazon.

It was a great deal April 2019 when I changed it. It is now November 2019 and my nightmare. It's 32F Street and trying to change that with a nasty carpal tunnel is going to hurt. So a big thank you to Cardona for nothing. It's pouring out of the bipod's spline shaft like crazy.

Works great on my 96 K1500. It's only been a few days so we'll see how it goes, but I'm just amazing. I can practically control my pinky and have 33" Super Swampers. The only complaint I have is that they painted over all the splines and threads on the joints. I spent some time cleaning them up so that the Stock and bipod arm slide properly, and it would be nice if they included a new bipod arm nut. Other than that, it seems to be working as advertised.

Since not many people have tried it, I decided to give it a try. After the discount, it costs about $10, why not. That was for my 1996 Silverado. I replaced all the components of my steering system. Connecting rods and wishbones, end rods, lobe joint replaced with U-joint. It helped a lot, but the steering still had some play. I tried it and the steering is the difference between day and night. Truck feels much better! It's great, I didn't have to adjust it, just install it and fill it with new

Remanufactured steering box for a 1996 GMC Yukon K1500 with 152,000 miles (one owner) I didn't fit it 2 months after ordering due to prolonged illness so I skipped the return window, otherwise I would send it back for a refund.
