I'm tired of manually measuring the water temp and waiting for it to drop to the right temp for my french press (I fill 200 degrees). I got it because the price was good at the time ($38.51 when I ordered it on April 11, 2020, current price on April 26 is $46.99) and the pot looked good. I washed it before first use and then measured the water and put it on a regular flame stove. So far there has been no odor or color shedding, and the temperature reading has been surprisingly accurate. After having some coffee I decided to check the sensor, raising it above 200 and slowly dropping it to 200 with both the lid sensor and my digital. one sank in the water. Both paired perfectly when it hit 200 and overall I'm quite happy with the bench. I'd recommend buying at around $40 when they come back, but since they've raised the price to 50, that's too much for 40 ounces in my opinion.
