The auto shut off feature on this charger definitely makes it a great charger. Charge activated light is the ideal aspect of this item. Now, it takes a long time (9 hours!) to fully charge a nearly empty battery, but the charge will "level out" so the charge lasts a long time (depending on the battery's state of charge). I bought one, liked it so much I bought another for my second battery. My original B&D battery ran out of juice when I wasn't using it with my tools (maybe 30 minutes in my flashlight) and I didn't want to use the original B&D charger that came with my cordless tools to charge my new one (Aftermarket) charging. Batteries, because they are constantly being charged (the original B&D charger) is part if not the main reason why the original B&D battery is almost useless.
