This is the second of these units we have and it is lighter than the first (bought about 35 years ago) and easier to handle. I bought this as an anniversary gift for my wife (46) when we were going camping with a tent. She hates getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom at the campsite, especially in the rain, so in a bright flash of understanding and compassion I ordered that for her. She laughed and joked about it, but after the hike she said it was one of the best gifts I've ever given her, especially after she had to get up during a raging thunderstorm. Mission accomplished! We have a two room tent so I put it in the second room so it has some privacy. We put a small tarp underneath in case there were any spills or leaks, but we had no problems with that. We both highly recommend this.
