Review on Pellon Legacy 102R Vinyl Fuse by Carl Durant

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for my sewing projects

I made small makeup bags as gifts and wanted to use fusible vinyl to protect the inner fabric. I bought Heat n Bond from Walmart as I couldn't find the product at either Joann or Hancock. Heat n Bond is quite stiff and makes a rustling noise when moving. Also, if you pull the bag through the hole in the lining to turn the bag right side out, it will detach from the fabric. I've just used Pellon's matte product on a bag and it's very flexible when ironed with no "wrinkled" noise. And the best part is that it didn't pull away from the fabric when turned inside out. With my small bags, it's not possible to re-iron the vinyl after the project is complete, as many people with Heat n Bond recommend. In this case, in my opinion, if you pay a little more for a product, you actually get better quality. I am very happy. Also, I love matte. It's barely noticeable even on the fabric. I followed the directions and there were no air bubbles, but I did notice iron marks when I held it up to the light. So I repeated the instructions, put the iron in a different position than before and removed it.
