After installing several light bars on golf carts at work I decided I only needed one for my truck. I used to install extra lights and other 12v accessories on cars and always spent more time figuring out how to get through the firewall than anything else. Seeing this as an option that was cheaper than many other wiring harnesses, I thought I'd give it a try. Wiring was as simple as ever, just enough extra length to get to the front of the car from anywhere in the engine bay. Then I tried it and everything works great. I can walk a good 50 feet from the truck and turn on the light. Since I mainly use it as an auxiliary light, I attached self-adhesive backed Velcro to the dashboard and key fob so I don't have to carry it around all the time. However, when camping or at work, I carry a key fob with me, which is very useful for turning on the lightbar when I'm working from the truck. My only complaint is that it's difficult to figure out which button does what since the description is made up of small characters. Embossing on the buttons that is not visible in the dark. This was easily remedied with a piece of Gaff Tape Day Glow. Also, in flash mode you can hear the relay turning on and off, which is likely to wear out the relay pretty quickly. It would be great if they could offer some other blinking functions or multiple I/Os that could be assigned to different buttons.
