These are now (depending on the tire radius in different lengths) on all our children's bikes. There are two features that make it perfect for kids: 1- Proper resilience. It's easy for kids to put on and take off again. Seems easy! However, every other stand we've tried messed up one of those two moves! 2- Tire support. The fact that it's on the back wheel makes it a lot easier for kids. Kickstands mounted in the middle of the bike constantly get tangled with the pedals. Our kids don't have the strength and coordination to readjust pedal position and therefore can't raise or lower the stand often enough. this installation location solves this problem in a simple way!
